In the noisy intermediate scale quantum era, nuclear physics is considered a promising tool for demonstrating practical quantum advantages. Based on the framework of linear combination of unitary operations, a full quantum computing package (QCSH) is proposed and constructed to calculate the energy levels of nuclei using a nuclear shell model, with both the number of qubits and quantum operations being the polynomial function of nucleon number in a nucleus. The cover cartoon simulates nuclear physics using QCSH. Specifically, the ground state energies of 12 light nuclei are calculated. Of note, the calculation of deuteron binding energy has been successfully demonstrated on a superconducting quantum hardware via the Quafu cloud platform (See the article (No. 240311) by Peng Lv et al.).
