“五一”假期期间，湖南口岸出入境人员2.5万人次，较去年同期增长1.6倍。其中，长沙口岸1.5万人次，同比增长1.4倍，张家界口岸近9700人次，同比增长2.1倍，两个口岸客流高峰时段均在每日22时至23时30分。5月2日湖南口岸单日流量5700余人次，为今年以来湖南口岸单日流量最高的一天。
从出境方向看，出境内地居民同比增长1.1倍，内地居民出境前往泰国、越南、肯尼亚、英国、新加坡等地较多。
从入境方向看，湖南对外籍旅客特别是韩国旅客的吸引力明显，入境外籍人员同比增长4倍，其中入境韩国籍旅客同比增长15倍、入境泰国籍旅客增长6倍，另外，入境外国人主要来自越南、马来西亚、菲律宾等国。（来源：湖南日报）
