泉州东西塔是镇国塔、仁寿塔的合称，是中国现存最高的一对石塔。镇国塔外形是仿木八角攒尖顶楼阁式建筑，塔身的浮雕门的两侧刻有武士、金刚、罗汉等形象生动的造像。
Quanzhou's East and West Towers, collectively known as the Zhenguo Tower and the Renshou Tower, are the tallest pair of stone towers in China. The Zhenguo Tower has an octagonal, pointed-roof, and mimicking-wood architectural style. The relief carvings on the tower's facade depict vivid images of warriors, Bodhisattvas, and Buddist arhats, among others.
塔基须弥座上面同样雕刻着40幅精美的浮雕画。西塔门和龛两旁有差不多80尊的浮雕。须弥座大多为花草禽兽的浮雕。
There are 40 exquisite relief paintings carved above the tower's Sumeru base. The West Tower has about 80 reliefs on its doors and niches. The Sumeru base is adorned with floral, bird, and animal reliefs.
东西塔抗震性极强，为举世罕见的杰作。泉州人爱说：站如东西塔，躺似洛阳桥，意为要像耸立近千年的东西塔一样，堂堂正正，不屈不挠。
Both East and West Towers exhibit exceptional earthquake resistance, making them rare masterpieces worldwide. Quanzhou locals often say, "Stand tall like the East and West Towers, lie down like Luoyang Bridge", signifying the aspiration to be as upright and unyielding as the East and West Towers, which have stood tall for nearly a millennium.
