4th IDBF World Cup to Be Held in Miluo

A press conference on the 4th International Dragon Boat Federation (IDBF) World Cup (Miluo,China) was held in Beijing on September 27, presenting updates and preparations for the competition.

The 4th IDBF World Cup will take place at the Miluo International Dragon Boat Race Center from October 22 to 28, with the approval of the General Administration of Sports of China. The competition will feature five events, including a 12-person 400m relay, a 1000m sprint race, a 22-person 100m race, a 200m mixed straight race, and a 500m mixed straight race. A total of 12 dragon boat teams from all over the world will participate in the events, including nine foreign teams from Asia, Europe, America, and Oceania and three teams from the Chinese mainland and China's Hong Kong SAR.

The competition will be broadcast live by the Sports Channel of the China Media Group on October 26 and 27.

Additionally, the third Yueyang Tourism Development Conference will be held in Miluo on October 25 and 26.

The conference will feature five major events including the opening ceremony and eight supporting activities. Tourists will be treated to colorful experiences ranging from dragon boat races and intangible cultural heritage showcases to art performances and cultural and creative products.

A promotion conference on the development of Yueyang’s tourism sector will be held, with cultural tourism products and travel routes to be launched and cultural tourism projects to be signed. The event is expected to expand the industry chains of “tourism + culture”, “tourism + sports”, and “tourism + technology”. New cultural scenes, patterns, and business forms will be fostered to further promote the fusion of culture and technology as well as the integration of culture and tourism, so as to boost consumption upgrading and economic growth.
