Diving into China|Fomba Kahkunted Berinyu: China is open and welcoming

“I think China is open and welcoming." recalls Fomba Kahkunted Berinyu, a Cameroonian undergraduate student at Tsinghua University. Life in China has changed her life trajectory. Eight years ago, at the age of 13, she left her family in her hometown to come to China. Over these eight years, with the help of teachers and friends, she overcame various difficulties such as language barriers, learning foundations, and living habits, focusing solely on the life and goals she wanted in school.

In China, Fomba Kahkunted Berinyu often felt the kindness and friendliness of the Chinese people. What impressed her the most was that Chinese elders often took the initiative to talk to her, asking what she studied at school and whether she had adapted to life in China. This made her feel "very warm-hearted." Therefore, in the face of various doubts about China from outsiders, Berinyu believes that the first step to understanding China is to experience life here firsthand.
