As the 16th BRICS Summit in Kazan, Russia, draws near, China Daily reporter Peng Yixuan boarded a train from Moscow to Kazan. While the autumn chill in Russia is settling in, Kazan offers a warm and vibrant atmosphere. The locals may appear tough and reserved initially, but they become incredibly friendly and welcoming once you start a conversation.
On the train, without any local currency, Peng Yixuan pulled out a few RMB bills to buy a bottle of water. The friendly train attendant hesitated upon seeing the foreign currency. Just as Peng planned to try her luck elsewhere, the attendant called out, offering her a bottle of water and insisting on not accepting payment.
This reflects the inclusive and cooperative spirit of BRICS, which strives for the vision of collaborative development among countries of different cultures and regions, serving as an important force in instilling confidence in the world.
